Overview
In this role you will strengthen Wellcome’s risk culture by embedding proactive risk and control practices across the organisation. You will partner with first‑line teams, support governance reporting, and drive assurance through second‑line testing. Working with stakeholders across functions, you help protect organisational resilience while advancing enterprise risk management. A meaningful hook is contributing to a globally focused health mission through robust risk controls and data‑led insights.
Responsibilities
- Embed a proactive risk management culture across departments and ensure robust controls
- Act as a key user for the Protecht GRC system including admin, data quality, and enhancements
- Support first‑line teams in documenting, monitoring and reporting controls per the risk framework
- Deliver risk processes such as Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and provide data‑driven reports for leadership
- Perform second‑line control testing to assess control effectiveness and strengthen resilience
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to advance enterprise risk management and meet governance requirements
- Champion inclusive values and adapt to evolving priorities to support the mission
Key requirements
- A relevant professional qualification
- Experience in audit, risk, controls, or related field
- Hands‑on experience of controls testing
- Background in internal or external audit
- Strong learning agility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career in risk management, governance and controls
