We are looking for an Junior Accounts Payable Assistant on a Fixed Term contract until 28 February 2025 to join our Accounts Payable team in Financial Accounting.. Where in Wellcome will I be working? The Accounts Payable Team (AP) is responsible for running the accounts payable processes ensuring accurate processing, recording and control of operational financial transactions. The AP team process non-grant related multi-currency payments to deliver Wellcome’s mission. They maintain financial records and assist with the general operations of the finance team. The day-to-day tasks of accounts payable function include invoice processing, matching invoices to purchase orders, ensuring bills are paid by their due dates, ensuring accurate data validation to feed into the monthly, quarterly, or annual statements. AP handles tracking outgoing payments, maintaining records, verifying expense claims and on-boarding of new suppliers and customers. What will I be doing? The Junior Accounts Payable Assistant supports the Accounts Payable Team so they can deliver our objectives. They will liaise with many stakeholders internally and externally and are the team’s first point of contact. Being a good communicator is key, as well as being friendly and approachable. Other key attributes work well under pressure with a high level of accuracy, reliability, positive attitude and proactive. As a Junior Accounts Payable Assistant, you will: Provide support to the Accounts Payable team with reviewing and processing of invoices and expenses using the system. Process Sales Invoice requests from across the business Preparing monthly supplier account reconciliations and investigating & resolving reconciling items Resolving payment queries from suppliers, invoice owners and employees, escalating these for a resolution as required Manage and maintain the Accounts Payable email inbox – answering, processing and / or distributing queries accordingly and dealing with the post.
