Are you passionate about Human Resources and eager to gain hands-on experience? The Wellcome Sanger Institute is offering a unique Apprenticeship opportunity designed to give you a competitive edge in the HR field. This will include working in the Learning & Engagement team within the first year, and the wider HR teams: HR services, Recruitment, and our Business Partners within the second year of the Apprenticeship.
This role is key to supporting our Learning & Engagement (L&E) team and the role holder will be working in our busy team to provide an excellent level of administrative support within all remits of the team and function.
You will be responsible for:
The role holder will have co-responsibility for supporting all our L&E initiatives including organising, monitoring and tracking courses, working closely with trainers and facilitators, hosting and supporting employee engagement events, and maintaining our Learning Management system whilst providing a high quality of administrative support to the team and the Head of L&E, which may include diary management.
About You:
You will be a confident communicator and have an interest in Human Resources. You will have a willingness to learn from both the Human Resource Apprenticeship and the experience gained through supporting our team. You will be able to manage your time well and be proactive in asking questions. This will allow you to then effectively organise, prioritise and manage administration tasks to support our busy team.

Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade C (4+) or above, including English and Maths
- No HR experience necessary, but must be willing to learn and put in the necessary work to gain the Level 3 HR apprenticeship qualification (HR Support, Level 3 standard)
- An interest in Human Resources
- Good verbal and written communication skills
