Situated in Northenden, Manchester, Oakbrook School is eagerly looking forward to opening its doors in Easter 2026. We are proud to introduce ourselves as a new special school, part of The Wellbrook School in Derbyshire. Our provision is designed to support up to 20 young people aged 9 to 16 with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of SEND (English Specialist) to join our team. You will be instrumental in creating a positive learning environment and making a real difference in our pupils' lives. Due to our small class sizes, you will have the chance to establish genuine connections with each student and offer tailored support. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning.

What we are looking for from you:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, with the ability to teach across key stages (KS1-KS4).
- Experience of planning, delivering, and assessing engaging English lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and commitment to inclusive education.
- Ability to differentiate learning effectively and use creative approaches to engage pupils with varied abilities.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
