Purpose

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to primary-aged pupils with SEND, including SEMH and autism. Plan and deliver a creative, differentiated primary curriculum, with a focus on core literacy and numeracy skills. Provide targeted support to pupils preparing for end of Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs), ensuring accessibility and appropriate scaffolding. Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that promotes pupil engagement, confidence, and wellbeing. Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to meet the holistic needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set high expectations and model excellent teaching practice, adapted to meet individual needs.
  • Teach a range of primary curriculum subjects, with a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and SATs preparation.
  • Create engaging, child-centred lesson plans that align with EHCP targets and personal learning goals.
  • Track and report pupil progress using formative and summative assessments, including SATs frameworks.
  • Work closely with the wider team to implement consistent behaviour support strategies.
  • Differentiating effectively to ensure inclusive access to learning for all pupils.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and safeguarding concerns using the school's systems.
  • Contribute to review meetings, including those related to EHCPs and annual reviews.
  • Participate in staff CPD, school events, and enrichment activities.
  • Support the school's values and vision, contributing to a positive and inclusive culture.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request as and when required.
