We are seeking a Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician to join the Maintenance Department at our gasification power plant in Leicestershire. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the facility. You will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical assets, delivering both preventative and reactive maintenance activities, and supporting wider plant improvement projects.

  • Diagnose faults and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, panels, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Conduct routine inspections and condition-based monitoring.
  • Work in accordance with site maintenance strategies, techniques, and industry best practice.
  • Support compliance with pressure system regulations and lifting equipment inspection requirements.
  • Assist with plant upgrades, modifications, and project tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records using the site CMMS (Piranha).
  • Contribute to outage planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ensure appropriate spares are available to sustain plant performance.
  • Deliver scheduled PPM and timely reactive maintenance activities.
  • Follow all site safety rules, SOPs, and company policies.
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 call-out rota system.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Time served or Level 3 qualification in Maintenance Engineering (multi-skill bias) with a minimum of 4 years’ maintenance experience in a heavy process environment (e.g., power generation, chemicals, refining, steel, waste treatment).
  • Basic knowledge of steam systems advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of water treatment plant advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience planning, scoping, or delivering small-scale maintenance projects.
  • Competent user of CMMS platforms (Piranha advantageous).
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance (NEBOSH or IOSH certificate advantageous but not essential).
