Job Summary:
As a key member of the Operations Management team, the Continuous Improvement (CI) Practitioner is responsible for driving operational excellence, increasing efficiency, and reducing costs across the organization. This is achieved through the effective deployment of Continuous Improvement practices and the coaching of staff to build internal capability.
The role focuses on embedding a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies through data-driven analysis, leading improvement initiatives, and mentoring teams in the application of CI methodologies such as Kaizen, A3 Thinking, and Continuous Improvement Frameworks.
Success in this role requires a growth mindset, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of the cultural challenges associated with implementing CI systems. The CI Practitioner plays a pivotal role in fostering a sustainable culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across all departments.
- Lead CI projects and improvement cycles aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving customer satisfaction.
- Monitor, track, and report on key CI metrics, including cost savings, return on investment (ROI), productivity, and quality improvements.
- Coach and mentor employees at all levels to build CI capability, leveraging frameworks such as A3 Thinking and other structured CI methodologies.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on CI tools and techniques, including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate opportunities for operational improvements.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to develop and implement Visual Management Systems and Visual Factories that enhance communication and drive engagement in performance metrics.
- Own and manage KPI dashboards, ensuring accurate data analysis to support business processes such as downtime reviews and performance tracking.
- Maintain comprehensive CI project documentation and progress reporting.
- Assist in standardizing best practices and maintaining consistent process documentation across departments.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation at all levels of the organization.
- Support strategic planning activities and ensure alignment between CI initiatives and overall business objectives.

Other Duties:
- Support the investigation and reporting of customer complaints.
- Assist with incoming inspection, including sampling and analysis of raw materials.
- Contribute to Post-Market Surveillance (PMS) and Post-Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) activities.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing projects and provide progress updates to the Continuous Improvement (CI) Management team in relation to key KPIs.
Personal Specifications:
Essential:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Certified in Lean Six Sigma or a similar process improvement methodology (e.g., Green Belt).
- 1–2 years of experience in operational or process improvement roles, with a proven track record of delivering CI projects—ideally within a similar industry.
- Practical experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, PDCA, A3 Thinking) and a basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Effective project and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the confidence to present to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced production environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Desirable:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent advanced certification.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- 2–3 years of experience in CI roles, with a portfolio of successful improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with change management processes and supply chain operations in a similar industry.
- Experience using statistical tools and software (e.g., Minitab) for data analysis.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects across different sites or teams.
- High initiative and resilience under pressure, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
