THE ROLE
The role of Senior National Account Manager is to lead account management of specified Grocery customers to build profitable sales growth by supporting the Head of Sales on our leading brands. As a dynamic business leader, you will drive new opportunities for Wella, developing and maintaining exceptional relationships with our retail partners across all relevant departments within the customer business. You will be a commercial expert who will help design the Retail Hair strategy, set ambitious growth plans for the Grocery channel, implement the plan from vision to execution, and have strong selling and negotiation skills to win in this channel. Lead Projects for the benefit of total Retail Hair UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Planning
- Understanding of customer objectives and direction
- Plan, develop, agree and implement an annual Joint Business Plan with the specified customer, activating contingency plans when necessary.
- Maximise commercial value of consumer insight data from Nielsen, Kantar, etc.
- Agree promotional forecast with Demand Planning to support the achievement of annual Forecasting Accuracy objectives.
- Agree monthly promotional support packages with customers including second sites, trade marketing and online support.
- Negotiation
- Agree listings for all new products and brands as appropriate.
- Negotiate cost price changes with the customer as appropriate.
- Submit all cost price change paperwork to the account and internally in an accurate and timely manner.
- Forecasting/Supply Chain
- Build contacts with the forecasting and supply chain teams within the customer to work together to manage the most cost-effective supply chain delivering all potential operational efficiencies.
- Financial responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and provide rationale to Head of Sales.
- Manage Gross to net controls to optimise profitability.
- Manage an investment plan to drive consumer awareness whilst maximising profitability.
- Deliver maximum consumer engagement from trade investment.
- Accurately prepare financial accrual requests and implement these with the Commercial team.
- Work with the customer and Customer Services to minimise receivables to achieve target Debtor days for the customer.
- Authorise all invoices for payment within 7 days of receipt or manage prompt agreement to amend or cancel invoices if raised in error by the customer.
- Relationships
- Build relationships with the specified Grocery customers at all levels of customer business.
- Be the voice of the Grocery within Wella Retail Hair.
- Escalate appropriately on important issues or ones that cannot be resolved.
YOUR PROFILE
- Senior Account Management experience with extensive experience in Customer & Sales Management and leading negotiations.
- Advanced planning, monitoring and analytical skills & knowledge of supporting programs and platforms.
- Advanced experience of Consumer and Shopper Insights.
- Proficiency in budget planning and P&L management.
- Organises their own work and that of others, taking responsibility for the quality of all deliverables.
- Strong team player and collaborates easily with others, seen as a role model and creates a positive environment while remaining focused on priorities and tackling obstacles, keeping the team motivated and engaged.
- Communicates effectively and delivers impactful presentations. Communication & influencing will be second nature.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can manage cross functional relationships.
