About the Role – This job is for a Junior Compliance professional to learn and enhance Compliance skills covering all aspects of building and maintaining a Compliance programme across the EMEA region. The role covers Compliance full time and will report to and have direct, unlimited access to support from the Chief Compliance Officer and the rest of the Compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Foundational Compliance work
  • WECare: Ensuring that the Code (WECare) is in place and easily accessible for all markets across EMEA.
  • Hotline: Working with the Chief Compliance Officer and the Compliance team, ensuring that the hotline is in place and easily accessible for all markets across EMEA in conjunction with the Hotline Coordinator.
  • Training: Assisting the Compliance team in designing and rolling out WECare training.
  • Investigations: Conduct and/or assist in compliance-related investigations by the Investigation Guidelines.
  • Advice and Guidance: Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to EMEA business and functional teams on Compliance matters. Coordinate with outside counsel to obtain Compliance advice and manage outside counsel activities to ensure appropriate scoping and cost-effectiveness. Provide regular updates and communications to employees on relevant Compliance topics.
  • Communications: Ensure appropriate communications to employees across EMEA to reinforce and embed Wella Company’s Compliance programme. This includes consultation and, where applicable, codetermination with employee representative bodies in conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Reporting: Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s): Monitor and report status on Compliance KPI’s. Create and implement action plans to address performance gaps as needed.
  • Risk responsive Compliance work
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify areas of focus and drive the development and implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Written Standards: With the support and direction of the Chief Compliance Officer to contribute to creating and implementing Compliance policies and procedures for all risk areas, including required controls. Ensure that all standards are communicated regularly to employees.
  • Training and Education: With the support of the Chief Compliance Officer, identify training needs and implement training and education plans, including tracking completion and effectiveness. Develop training materials for local live training and/or region-specific online training of employees and Third Parties. Effectively administer live training.
  • Monitoring and Auditing: Support Internal Audit in conducting monitoring and auditing as required. Implement spot checks, site visits or other monitoring activities as required.
  • Third-Party Management: Drive third-party compliance management and initiatives, including implementing global standards regarding risk review, due diligence, training, contracting, and monitoring. Partner with business and functional teams to understand third-party strategy and ensure compliance risks are considered and mitigated.
  • Supporting global work in the Compliance team where appropriate and as required from time to time.

Qualifications / Skills

  • 2-5 years of experience working within a company Compliance team
  • Law degree or qualification is preferable but not necessary.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work proactively and independently.
  • Experience working within a multinational global organization.
  • Advanced communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Good project/change management skills.
  • Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and to partner with the business and functions to get things done.
  • Self-starter, takes the initiative and operates with a sense of urgency, decisiveness, and responsiveness with minimal supervision, knows when to seek help, and is a part of a team as required.
  • Proven and precise oral and written communication skills in English are required
