Position Title: Field Key Account Manager

Location: Field, North West

Reports to: Area Manager

THE ROLE

Wella wants to be the best partner salons could have, to help them realise their ambitions, their dreams and achieve every success, so whatever salons want to achieve, we’re always there for them. Our Wella Key Account Managers have overall responsibility for business growth within their territory of 40‑60 Key Accounts (£1.5‑2MM territory turnover). Success will be achieved through taking a business consultative approach with our salon partners to grow their business leveraging our portfolio of product and services to delight their customers (visiting on average 2‑3 Key Accounts per day).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver quarterly/yearly sales targets in terms of overall territory turnover, number of buying accounts and specific brands turnover.
  • Partner with hairdressers to develop their salon business through joint business planning to:
    • Attract new clients
    • Drive client loyalty through tailored experience & services
    • Grow the spend per client
    • Drive retail sell out
    • Optimise salon & staff operations to encourage joint growth
    • Improve salon image and point of differentiation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A drivers licence
  • At least 2 years’ direct selling experience in field based position(s)
  • Experience in using a consultative approach to business development
  • You are very organised and operate with high level of discipline
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are digitally savvy
  • You hold yourself accountable for the success of your territory – even when not everything is under your control; intensively driven & tenacious, determined to get over the obstacles in the path of what need to do
  • Act as an owner, as if it was your name on the door, as if it was your money being spent and your reputation on the line
  • You are driven to beat competition by acting fast with new ideas executed superbly; you operate at high pace and find ways to make things happen
  • You always push for more and set higher, braver targets; you don’t just want to meet the objectives but blow them out of the water, but never at the expense of ethical behaviour and safe ways of working
  • You are driven to succeed but never at a colleague’s expense; you assume good intent in others; disagree openly but then fully back the decision made by your manager and your leadership

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in field sales in FMCG (Drinks, Confectionary Beauty)
  • Experience in selling to small / independent shops / retailers
  • Experience of joint business planning, contracting and negotiation
  • Experience working with cross‑functional commercial teams (marketing, finance) to design customised plans
  • You have graduated with a 2:1 from a top UK or European university/business school (e.g. Russel Group universities)
