Location: Well-Safe Solutions, Aberdeen, though there will be a requirement to visit and work at other company locations or supplier's premises as required, including offshore. The postholder must be able to attend our global headquarters in Aberdeen.

Reporting Line: The Senior HSE Advisor will report directly to the HSE Manager.
Role: The Senior HSE Advisor will include the facilitation and management of the company's integrated Business Management system to levels that will successfully achieve the requirements of all interested parties including customer, regulatory and certification authorities/providers.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement campaign-specific HSE plans for well decommissioning operations.
- Maintain HSE risk registers, ensuring robust identification and mitigation of Major Accident Hazards (MAHs) and integration of process safety barriers.
- Prepare and manage HSE Management System interface documentation across Well-Safe, Client and contractor systems.
- Manage all safety and environmental permits, licenses, applications, notifications, and consents (PLANC) required for well decommissioning activities.
- Facilitate and support audits and assessments by Independent Verification Bodies, Approval Bodies, and other external parties.
- Lead or support HSE investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective and preventative measures.
- Monitor and ensure timely close-out of non-conformances, corrective actions, and management of change reports.
- Provide proactive HSE support across all well operations and offshore teams, promoting strong safety culture and environmental performance.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, DWOPs, and technical assurance reviews to ensure MAH controls are robust and documented.
- Validate and verify SEMS-related plans and emergency response arrangements, ensuring readiness across all campaign assets.
- Support and mentor onshore and offshore HSE resources, fostering hazard awareness and process safety competence.
- Act as focal point and liaison with offshore safety representatives, promoting engagement and continuous improvement.
- Provide HSE input to Well Examination processes and liaise with Well Examiner to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and monitor leading and lagging HSE KPIs for well operations, reporting trends and improvement actions.
- Oversee contractor HSE performance, including bridging documents, MAH management, and assurance of safety-critical roles.
- Support SECE (Safety and Environmental Critical Elements) management for drilling contractors, ensuring verification and compliance with Safety Case requirements.
- Provide HSE support for marine operations and interface activities.
- Support occupational health and environmental monitoring programs.
Key outcomes:
- HSE Culture of Excellence through proactive Human factors & Behavioral based safety methodologies, including accident and incident prevention through improved Major Accident Hazard (MAH) identification and control initiatives.
- Proactive monitoring and engagement with contractors and external providers, ensuring alignment on MAH management and process safety barriers.
- Compliance with company management system, contractual obligations for offshore well abandonment, and PLANC reporting requirements.
- Close alignment on HSE between Well-Safe Well Engineering, Operations, and Assurance teams.
- Implementation of relevant standards and management systems to ensure safe work practices and conditions.
- Strong regulatory relationships in support of well decommissioning activities.
- Effective reporting and timely response to observations raised through SEMS reporting systems (target: zero repeat reports).
- Monitored set of leading and lagging HSE KPIs for well operations, driving continuous improvement.
SEMS compliance:
- Proactive and reactive monitoring of performance and engagement with personnel.
- Reporting and close out of SEMS actions in accordance with agreed KPI's/timescales.
- Provision of Management reports in line with agreed timescales.
- Verification and Approval body compliance (i.e. 0 x Major N/C).
- Provision of HSE deliverables required as part of Project HSE plans.
- Compliance with approval body and regulatory requirements (i.e. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018).

Knowledge & Competency:
- Understanding of Major Accident Hazard Risk Assessment to identify environmental consequences associated with MA and if potential environmental consequence could result in significant pollution / MEI.
- Knowledge and experience of Well Plug & Abandonment and/or Decommissioning activities.
- Minimum 5 yrs. experience in the Management of QHSE Management systems.
- Health and Safety Qualification at NEBOSH level or equivalent.
- Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Training.
- Must be a self-starter, be practical and have ability to communicate effectively and interact proactively with the rig and with Company and client management teams to achieve the best results.
- Experience in Rig Operations.
- Experience in the use of Software packages for the implementation of a QHSE MS.
- UK minimum safety training (i.e. BOSIET, MIST etc).
- CPD maintained in accordance with relevant Professional bodies (i.e. CQI, IOSH, IEMA).
- Certified Internal Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA.
- Certified Lead Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA.
- Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
