About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Regional Operations Manager to lead and grow our high-performing pharmacies across the South East of England. You will drive operational excellence, ensure patient safety, and optimise financial performance, all while developing teams that thrive in a performance-led culture.
Purpose:
- Optimise the financial performance of the Region.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Ensure patient safety, quality, and operational standards are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving Results- Line manage Area Operations Managers and strategic pharmacies within the Region.
- Provide clear direction to ensure business goals are achieved.
- Ensure all pharmacies have robust business plans aligned to regional budgets.
- Analyse data to drive profitable growth across Rx, services, OTC, and convenience.
- Ensure payroll and operational costs are within budget.
- Deliver excellent retail and operational standards across the Region.
- Build capable, engaged, and diverse teams through a performance-led culture.
- Coach Area Operations Managers, Pharmacy Managers, and their teams to achieve results.
- Foster an “own business” mindset within teams while ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
- Develop succession plans, recognise and reward success, and address underperformance.
- Ensure completion of mandatory training to maintain competence.
- Ensure regulatory, professional, and NHS standards are consistently met.
- Lead a culture of continual improvement across the Region.
- Take ownership of serious patient safety incidents and complaints.
General Responsibilities:
- Align regional business plans with corporate strategy (‘Delivering Well’).
- Monitor customer, people, and compliance measures through performance metrics.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the community pharmacy market.
- Ensure delivery of business cases for all investment projects.
- Guarantee legal and operational compliance across all pharmacies.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience in field or multi-site management.
- Pharmacy background highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to adapt your style.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Strong networker and brand ambassador with the ability to build effective external relationships.
- Commercially aware with a track record of delivering business results.
