We are looking for a qualified healthcare assistant with experience of working in General Practice, who is caring and compassionate and works well as part of a team. The contract is initially on a temporary basis covering long-term sickness, so flexibility is key.

Main duties of the job:

  • Competently perform venipuncture
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • General observations
  • Injections such as B12 and influenza
  • Chaperoning when required

About us:

Well Close Medical Group is one of two practices that formed Lindisfarne Health. We have a patient list size of approximately 9500 patients and are due to relocate into the New Hospital in Berwick once complete.

Job responsibilities:

  • Venipuncture
  • BP readings
  • Injections such as B12 and Flu
  • Chaperoning
  • Any other tasks suitable for HCA

The role is initially to cover long-term sickness and any holiday cover. The successful candidate must be flexible to cover clinics during practice hours. Clinics run between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Hours per week may vary and are negotiable with the managing partner. There may be an opportunity to work part of our enhanced service currently on Thursday evenings until 8pm and Saturday mornings 9am - 12noon.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Qualified in Venipuncture
  • Experience: Ability to provide quality patient-centred care as part of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience using System One
