The Role
As the Receptionist at Stanshawes Care Home, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff. Your role is pivotal in creating a positive and professional atmosphere, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the care home. This is a part-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of Β£12.21 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and greeting visitors, residents, and contractors with warmth and professionalism.
- Managing incoming calls efficiently, responding to enquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Maintaining the reception area to ensure it is tidy and inviting at all times.
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries promptly and securely.
- Maintaining accurate records, including visitor logs and appointment schedules.
- Providing administrative support, such as data entry, filing, and document preparation.
- Supporting staff with general enquiries and liaising with healthcare professionals as required.
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Assisting Admin Manager with recruitments, residents' personal allowance, staff training, and general office duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably within Health, Nursing & Social Care or a related sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficient in using telephone systems, Microsoft Office suite, and basic IT applications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults is highly desirable.
