Job Title: Roving Veterinary Receptionist
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £12.21 – £13.52 per hour average, dependant on age and experience
Hours: 30 hours per week – a mix of shift patterns Monday – Friday, 7.30am-1.30pm or 1.30pm-7.30pm.
Saturdays on rota with overtime, Sunday back up rota approx. 1:25
Holidays: 31 days start (inc stat), increase to 34 with service

The Role
Donaldson\’s is currently recruiting for a roving receptionist to join our dedicated and expanding team, working across all of our 7 branches within Kirklees and surrounding areas you will provide reception cover.

You need to be a highly motivated individual, able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to promote animal welfare. You must have strong communication skills with a passion for providing the best customer care experience reflecting Donaldson\’s excellent reputation.

Main duties will include
- Prompt efficient answering of calls
- Greeting of clients on arrival.
- Arrange appointments, register clients and pets, invoices, process payments.
- Liaise with clients, book follow up appointments and ensure payments are made.
- Ensure the smooth running of appointments and admissions for vets and nurses.
- Monitor client flow from check in to discharge.
- Assess the urgency of a pet\’s condition when booking emergency appointments -with guidance.
- Give advice on nurse/vet clinics, cost of treatments, insurance and payments.
- Take excess payments for insured clients, complete claim forms before the client leaves
- Ethically promote (VIP) pet health care plan, pet insurance
- Answer basic questions on practice policy, eg neutering, vaccinations and pre – op advice.
- Develop preventative health care knowledge to provide advice in line with practice protocols, topics such as flea, worm treatment, vaccination, diet.
- To be familiar with GDPR
- Resolve, assist with complaints or queries
- General clerical duties including filing, photocopying, emailing, scanning.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in reception, waiting areas, consulting rooms and client toilets, including restocking supplies. Cleaning duties involve a hands-on, active approach.

- Proven experience in a similar role is ideal but not essential
- We require candidates with strong, demonstrable IT skills
- Experience working with computer management systems
- A driving licence is required to be a successful applicant
