We are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced school Safeguarding Manager to join our Core Team and help ensure the safety and well-being of all students. This is a newly created post and is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of safeguarding practices to make a real difference in a supportive and dynamic school environment.
You will work closely with the Trust Safeguarding Lead and School DSL (Deputy Head Teacher) and will play a key role in maintaining a safe school environment, managing safeguarding concerns on a day-to-day basis, and ensuring compliance with all child protection policies and procedures. You will work closely with staff, pupils, families, and external agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the operational management of safeguarding and child protection cases on a day-to-day basis.
- Conduct initial fact-finding investigations, manage case files, make and manage referrals to external agencies.
- Work closely with the DSL and Deputy DSLs to ensure a coordinated safeguarding response and provide advice to colleagues.
- Attend and contribute to safeguarding and strategy meetings as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies, including attending and contributing to safeguarding and strategy meetings as required.
- Work directly with pupils and families where early help or targeted interventions are required.
- Analyse safeguarding data to identify patterns, trends, risks, training needs etc.
- Undertake/support quality assurance and compliance reviews.
- We are looking for a proactive and organised professional who combines strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection with excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Provide advice, guidance and training as required.
- Experience working with children and young people, understanding their needs and providing appropriate support.
- Experience of working in a safeguarding role, ideally within the education or public sector.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation and processes.
- Experience of safeguarding recording systems (preferably CPOMS) and MIS systems (preferably Arbor).
- Confidence to work with external agencies and advocate for pupils in a multi-agency environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agencies.
