- To prepare bookkeeping for clients.
- Sort through prime records, such as invoices, as required for entry into the bookkeeping system.
- Prepare and review data in bookkeeping systems, critically appraise the entries and recommend improvements and corrections as necessary.
- Develop knowledge of internal and external cloud and desktop systems, advise regarding these systems as required.
- Liaise with clients, clear queries, and provide bookkeeping guidance.
- Prepare and review period end VAT returns.
- Query transactions with clients as necessary.
- Ensure bookkeeping accounts are balanced and reconciled and work with the internal team and client to investigate and reconcile differences. Proactively look to reconcile differences, with manager approval.
- Work with other staff members to ensure a smooth transition from bookkeeping to annual accounts.
- Ensure deadlines are met, for example, submission of VAT returns.
- Assist with updating internal records and checklists for client work.
- Work with colleagues to help update, and recommend improvements to, systems, processes, and controls.
- Acknowledge all client correspondence in a professional manner.
- Undertake training as necessary and be proactive with your own development.
- Understand and complete the AML process for new and existing clients.
- Review clients' records and develop understanding with a view to making recommendations for improvement.
- Manage own time and interact with other department team members to schedule work and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Support and develop junior members of the team.
- Take an active role in team meetings and discussions.
- Assist with administrative duties as required by the company.
- Assist fellow colleagues and peers as required by the company.
- Good personal motivation, organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- The ability to communicate clearly, and effectively at all levels including ensuring the managers and the director are aware of any client issues.

- AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
- Demonstrable experience with Excel and Xero.
- Familiarity and an understanding of the relevant statutory compliance issues affecting the company including GDPR & Money Laundering. xiskglj
- Preferred full driving licence, plus unrestricted access to a car.
- Reports to: Company Director - Grade: Employee - Working hours β 16-20 hrs per week + additional overtime as available during busy periods. - Flexible arrangements for working pattern including days worked and hours per day. Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
