This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and support learners in achieving their full potential.
You will be working closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons and activities, acting as a second pair of ears and eyes for the teacher, observing pupils’ performance and behaviour. As well as interacting with learners, you will also support the teaching team by preparing classroom materials ready for fun-filled sessions.
For this academic year, your role will be based within a semi-formal or formal class, working with learners aged 11–19. However, the specific class placement may change in future academic years depending on school needs.
You will have the enthusiasm and resilience to work with children and young people who have a wide variety of needs including:
- Autistic spectrum condition
- Moderate and severe learning difficulties
- Speech, language and communication
Skills & Qualifications
- An awareness of child/young person’s development and learning
- An awareness of the needs of children and young people with learning, sensory and physical difficulties
- Experience of working with children and young people
- NVQ level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent or achievement within a reasonable timescale
