About the Role

As MRI Cardiac Lead Radiographer, you will lead the delivery and development of Cardiac MRI services within a high‑performing Imaging and Diagnostics team. You will provide expert clinical leadership in cardiac imaging, champion image optimisation and protocol development, and ensure the team remains at the forefront of current practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MRI radiographer with strong Cardiac MRI expertise to combine hands‑on clinical practice with leadership, mentoring, and service improvement. You will work across all MRI scanners, support colleagues through education and training, and contribute to a culture focused on safety, innovation, quality, and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of Cardiac MRI imaging, including education, protocol development, and image optimisation
  • Keep the wider radiography team up to date with developments in Cardiac MRI practice and embed new ways of working
  • Deliver high‑quality MRI examinations across a broad range of specialties, supporting both adult and paediatric patients
  • Work confidently across all MRI scanners, troubleshooting effectively and maintaining high technical standards
  • Promote MRI safety, governance, and compliance with local rules, policies, and regulatory standards
  • Support service improvement through audit, innovation, quality assurance, and performance monitoring
  • Liaise closely with radiologists, cardiologists, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support excellent clinical outcomes
  • Mentor and support colleagues, contribute to rotas and operational planning, and deputise for senior MRI leadership when required

About You

You are an experienced and technically accomplished MRI radiographer with strong expertise in Cardiac MRI and a passion for delivering safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care. HCPC registered and confident working autonomously, you bring a broad grounding in general MRI practice alongside the specialist knowledge needed to lead and develop a cardiac service. You are a collaborative and proactive leader who communicates clearly, works well under pressure, and takes pride in supporting colleagues as well as patients. With excellent clinical judgement, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will thrive in a role that combines leadership, innovation, and hands‑on scanning in a fast‑paced specialist environment.
