About the department
The Welbeck Central Pharmacy is a specialist clinical pharmacy service supporting a high-performing private day-case centre in London. The department works across a range of surgical and outpatient specialties, ensuring safe, efficient and patient-focused medicines management. It collaborates closely with consultants, clinical teams and supply chain partners to deliver timely access to medicines, maintain robust stock control, and support high standards of patient care.
About the role
As a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services within our Welbeck based pharmacy. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist with the preparation, dispensing, procurement, and distribution of medicines while ensuring high standards of accuracy, safety, and patient care are maintained at all times. The role is predominantly based in the new Pharmacy Stores and Distribution, with cross cover working also in the main dispensary.
This is a varied and rewarding position that combines technical pharmacy duties with customer service and operational support. You will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy and contribute to providing an excellent experience for patients and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with stock management, including ordering, receiving, checking, putting stock away, and rotating stock.
- Monitor stock levels and help minimise wastage through effective inventory control.
- Using the pharmacy robotic system.
- Assisting with Stock top up services such as co-ordinating stock boxes for clinical areas and doing a clinical area top-up to assess what stocks are required.
- Support the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Accurately label, assemble, and package medicines under appropriate supervision.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Ensure medicines are stored securely and appropriately at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to routine enquiries professionally.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised pharmacy environment.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous development of pharmacy services.
