With an emphasis on dignity, communication and clinical credibility, our team provides attentive monitoring, compassionate recovery support and a consistently high standard of care across all patient interactions.

About The Role

As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) within our Procedure Suite, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional perioperative and recovery care. You will support patient admissions, pre‑procedure preparation, post‑procedure monitoring and recovery, as well as patients receiving infusion therapies. Working under the supervision of registered nurses, you will perform clinical observations, assist with equipment preparation and provide both practical and emotional support to patients throughout their journey.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a patient facing clinical environment, enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is keen to develop skills within day case, procedural and recovery settings. You will play a vital part in creating a smooth, safe and positive experience for every patient who comes through the suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the safe admission and discharge of patients under the guidance of a registered nurse
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist with recovery following minor surgeries and infusion treatments
  • Carry out basic clinical observations, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure and oxygen saturation
  • Provide compassionate emotional and physical support, ensuring dignity and privacy at all times
  • Perform non‑invasive clinical tasks such as ECGs, equipment preparation and safe patient transport
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised environment in line with infection prevention and control standards
  • Update patient records as directed, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Provide chaperone support during examinations and clinical procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Role‑model high standards and support junior HCAs to contribute to a positive team culture
  • Assist nursing staff with equipment setup and routine safety checks, including medical gas and suction equipment
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient feedback processes.

About You

You are an experienced Healthcare Assistant with a strong interest in perioperative, procedural or infusion‑based care. You bring compassion, attentiveness and professionalism to every patient interaction, and you take pride in delivering safe, high quality care within a team based environment.

You are confident undertaking basic clinical observations, supporting patient recovery and working within well‑established clinical protocols. You are organised, proactive and able to work calmly under pressure. With strong communication skills and a naturally empathetic approach, you adapt your style to meet the needs of each patient particularly those who may be anxious or vulnerable.

You understand the importance of confidentiality, infection prevention and accurate documentation, and you are committed to developing your skills within a modern, patient‑centred clinical setting.
