About the role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Endoscopy team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of outstanding patient care within a specialist gastrointestinal service, working alongside leading consultants and experienced healthcare professionals. You will play an integral role in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and personalised care throughout their endoscopy journey.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist with the preparation and running of procedure lists, support patients before, during, and after procedures, and help maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, patient-centred care within the endoscopy service.
- Prepare endoscopy rooms, equipment, and consumables for procedures.
- Support patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Assist clinicians during endoscopic procedures and provide appropriate patient support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Undertake extended clinical duties, including IV cannulation, where trained and competent.
- Participate in team briefings, service improvement initiatives, and the development of colleagues and junior team members.
