About the role
As a Cross Sectional CT/MRI Radiographer, you will play a vital role in delivering a first class diagnostic imaging service, providing high quality CT and MRI examinations while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. You will be responsible for performing a range of cross-sectional imaging procedures safely and effectively, working within established protocols and professional standards. You will support patients throughout their imaging journey, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and comfortable at every stage of their visit. Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will demonstrate excellent clinical judgement, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of image quality and patient safety. You will also contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the department through compliance with governance requirements, equipment quality assurance processes, and accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Perform high quality CT and MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and professional standards
- Deliver safe, effective, and patient centred care throughout the imaging pathway
- Ensure patients are appropriately prepared, informed, and supported during examinations
- Produce diagnostic quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Administer contrast media in accordance with local policies and competency requirements
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to clinical concerns
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation using electronic systems
- Adhere to radiation protection, MRI safety, infection prevention, and information governance requirements
- Participate in equipment quality assurance, safety checks, and governance activities
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, consultants, referrers, and multidisciplinary teams to support excellent patient outcomes
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of departmental practices
- Support departmental operational needs and work flexibly to maintain service delivery

You are a qualified HCPC registered Radiographer with experience in CT, MRI, or both, and a strong commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. You are confident working in a busy clinical environment and take pride in producing high-quality diagnostic imaging while maintaining excellent patient experience standards. You combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, enabling you to support a diverse range of patients with professionalism, empathy, and reassurance.
