About the department

Our Minimally Invasive Treatment Suite within Orthopaedics & Neurology is a highly specialised service supporting image guided procedures that improve patient outcomes and recovery times. The service plays a critical role in delivering safe, effective, and efficient care across a range of orthopaedic, spinal, and pain management interventions.

Working closely with consultants, anaesthetists, nursing teams, and wider clinical colleagues, the department ensures procedures are supported by high quality imaging in a controlled, patient-focused environment. Precision, safety, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

As a Bank Registered Nurse within the Procedure Suite, you will support the delivery of high-quality care in both pre- and post-recovery settings. You will play a key role in preparing patients for procedures, monitoring them during recovery, and ensuring safe and timely discharge.

Working flexibly as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will assess patient needs, deliver clinical care to a high standard, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. You will provide reassurance and clear communication to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and supportive experience throughout their journey.

This role requires strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain accurate documentation, adhere to clinical governance and infection prevention standards, and contribute to the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care across pre- and post-procedure areas

  • Undertake patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care

  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring all clinical checks are completed

  • Monitor patients in recovery, responding promptly to any clinical changes

  • Support safe discharge planning and patient education

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use electronic systems effectively

  • Work collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists, and the wider multidisciplinary team

  • Adhere to infection prevention, safeguarding, and clinical governance standards

  • Escalate concerns, incidents, or patient deterioration appropriately

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-stocked clinical environment

  • Work flexibly to meet service and patient needs

About you

You are a qualified Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration and a strong commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. You are confident in clinical assessment and patient monitoring, with experience in acute, perioperative, or recovery settings being highly desirable.

You communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, relatives, and colleagues, demonstrating professionalism and a patient-first approach at all times. You are organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure, maintaining high standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive and reliable team player, you contribute positively to multidisciplinary working and are committed to continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and outstanding patient experience.
