About the role
As a Senior General X-ray / CT Radiographer, you will deliver a high-quality, patient-centred imaging service across CT and general X-ray. You will independently perform and assess examinations in line with IR(ME)R regulations, ensuring clinical quality and patient safety at all times. You will undertake a range of advanced imaging procedures, including specialist CT examinations, while working collaboratively with radiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to support accurate diagnosis and excellent patient outcomes. Alongside clinical delivery, you will contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, and innovation within the department, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT and general X-ray examinations to a high clinical standard
- Assess and justify imaging requests in line with IR(ME)R
- Deliver specialist CT procedures, including cardiac and interventional imaging
- Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-focused care throughout
- Evaluate image quality and adapt protocols where required
- Administer contrast agents in line with PGDs and protocols
- Maintain accurate records and use PACS/RIS systems
- Support quality assurance, governance, and safety standards
About you
You are an HCPC-registered radiographer with strong general radiography experience and exposure to CT. You are confident working independently, managing a varied workload, and maintaining high clinical and governance standards. You communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and colleagues, and you are committed to continuous professional development and delivering an excellent patient experience.
