We are looking to appoint a Butcher to join the team at Welbeck Farm Shop. Location: Welbeck Farm Shop, Courtyard at Welbeck, Worksop, S80 3LW. Job type: Full-time/ 40 hours per week.
Due to ongoing growth, Welbeck Farm Shop is looking to add an additional butcher to their award-winning team on a full-time, permanent basis. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about quality produce and great food, with full carcass butchery experience and the ability to apply fine craftsmanship to our counter’s produce using traditional knife skills. The role will predominantly be customer-facing and will suit candidates with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
As needed, full carcass butchery and sausage making skills will be regularly called upon to ensure the smooth running of the department. Our butchery counter provides traditionally farmed local meat including Welbeck’s own lamb, seasonal game, estate-reared venison and local free-range pork. Tradition plays a large part in what we offer - we know that the produce we stock is high quality and has been farmed with care.
Responsible for ensuring high quality meat products, providing exceptional service whilst always maintaining food safety standards:
- Weighing, packaging, pricing and displaying products
- Breaking down of carcasses and preparation of cuts for our counters and pre-orders
- Sausage making and added value product development
- Maintain excellent product quality and presentation
- Greeting and advising customers, keeping records and inventory
- Using skills from proven experience in a butchery environment
Successful experience of working in a busy butchery environment:
- Butchery expertise with precision and attention to detail
- Experience of traditional butchery techniques, with excellent knife skills
- Ability to work as a team with strong communication skills
- Passion for locally sourced, quality seasonal produce and great customer service
