3PL Commercial Manager in Doncaster

Commercial Manager – Logistics Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum + Car Allowance Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm Job Type: Full-time Location: Doncaster– On-site About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing logistics and transport operation. This is a key commercial role with responsibility for driving revenue, profitability and commercial performance across warehouse and transport operations. You will work closely with operations, finance and account management teams to ensure customers receive a high-quality service while contracts and operations remain commercially sustainable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in UK logistics, warehousing, haulage, transport or 3PL who enjoys working with data, pricing, customers and commercial strategy. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement commercial strategies to improve revenue, margins and customer retention. - Manage pricing models, rate cards and commercial agreements across warehouse and transport operations. - Support contract negotiations and ensure pricing reflects operational requirements and costs. - Oversee invoicing and customer debt management in line with agreed contractual terms. - Monitor contract profitability, revenue performance and operational costs. - Produce accurate weekly and monthly commercial, KPI and P&L reports. - Manage the month-end commercial process and ensure accurate financial information is submitted. - Analyse margins, cost drivers and profitability by customer, contract and project. - Identify opportunities to improve revenue, cost efficiency and operational performance. - Work closely with operational teams to ensure service delivery aligns with commercial commitments. - Ensure changes to operations are reflected in pricing and contractual terms. - Act as a key commercial contact for customers and support regular account reviews. - Manage commercial queries, escalations and disputes where required. - Identify new business opportunities and support tenders, RFQs and commercial proposals. - Maintain accurate pricing, KPI and CRM data. - Provide clear commercial insight and reporting to senior management to support business decisions. - Ensure all appropriate operational costs are accurately and transparently charged to customers. About You We're looking for a commercially focused professional with experience within UK logistics, transport, warehousing or 3PL. You will ideally have: - Proven experience in a commercial, pricing, account management or similar role within logistics. - Strong knowledge of UK road transport operations, haulage costs and transport planning. - A strong understanding of financial performance and commercial reporting. - Experience negotiating contracts, pricing structures and commercial agreements. - Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail. - Advanced or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. - Experience producing detailed reports from multiple data sources. - Excellent customer relationship and negotiation skills. - The ability to identify commercial opportunities and translate data into actionable business decisions. - A proactive, self-motivated approach and the confidence to develop and improve reporting processes. - The ability to work collaboratively with operations, finance and senior management. Desirable Experience - Experience working for a medium-sized logistics, haulage or 3PL business. - Knowledge of UK transport compliance and regulatory requirements. - Experience responding to transport tenders and RFQs. - Experience managing commercial performance across multiple sites or operations.
