We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to manage and optimise transportation operations for a well-established manufacturing company in Dewsbury. This role involves overseeing delivery schedules, fleet management, cost control, compliance, and coordination with internal and external teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan deliveries and schedule routes efficiently, ensuring customer deadlines are met.
- Monitor transport costs and negotiate contracts with service providers.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee fleet maintenance and manage vehicle repairs/replacements.
- Resolve transportation issues and maintain accurate records of activities and performance.
- Supervise and train drivers and transport staff.
- Report on fleet performance, including delivery metrics and costs.
- Prepare and manage the transport budget.
- Implement emergency plans for transportation delays or accidents.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
