Wise Employment are looking for a HSE Lead (Manufacturing) to join an amazing and rapidly growing Company based in Plymouth. This is a Full Time Permanent position, where you will work Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 and Fridays 07:30 – 12:30 (so a 2.5-day weekend!).

This is an on-site factory-based role, where your responsibility will be on driving compliance, continuous improvement, and a positive HSE culture through engagement and practical solutions. Along with working closely with management and operational teams to embed best practice, challenge existing processes where appropriate, and support staff in taking ownership of HSE responsibilities within a busy manufacturing environment.
As a HSE Lead, your Key Responsibilities will be:
- Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and risk control measures
- Monitor compliance with UK HSE legislation and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses (including RIDDOR reporting)
- Deliver HSE training, inductions and awareness programmes
- Conduct workplace inspections, internal audits and emergency preparedness drills
- Support environmental management, sustainability initiatives, waste control and energy efficiency projects
To be successful you will need:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 5 is essential (working towards Diploma desirable)
- Minimum TechIOSH status is essential (CertIOSH preferred or willingness to work towards)
- IEMA Environmental Certificate is desirable
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is preferred
- At least 3 years’ HSE experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Pragmatic, proactive and confident in influencing others
Please note in order to achieve the higher salary band, you must meet and show all the above criteria at interview stages.
