Hours: 4pm–4am | Rotating Shifts | 365-Day Operation

Wise Employment are recruiting on behalf of a respected organisation dedicated to the safe, compassionate handling of stray dogs across London and the South East. Full training is provided — no previous warden experience needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely collect, handle and transport stray, nervous or aggressive dogs
  • Take dogs to kennels, Battersea Dogs Home, foster carers or reunite them with owners
  • Work with vets to ensure sick or injured dogs receive prompt treatment
  • Feed, settle, and care for dogs in kennels
  • Maintain clean, safe environments
  • Complete accurate reports and records using provided systems

Shift Pattern

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Week 2: Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

A rotating pattern of 4-on/3-off followed by 3-on/4-off (12-hour shifts).

Essential Requirements

  • Experience caring for or working with dogs
  • Able to work independently and stay calm in challenging situations
  • Physically fit (lifting dogs and equipment)
  • Basic IT skills (Outlook, Excel, tablets)
  • Full UK manual driving licence (2+ years, max 3 points)
  • Aged 22+ (insurance requirement)
  • Able to pass a DBS check
