We are seeking a highly motivated Project Specialist to join our foundry operations team, specializing in data collection, analytics, and visualization. This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation within the foundry environment, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to optimize processes, improve sustainability, enable and enhance decision-making.
The Project Specialist – Foundry (Data & Digitalization Focus) is responsible for driving digital transformation and process optimization within foundry operations. The role leverages data analytics, IoT technologies, and integrated systems to improve efficiency, reduce variability, and support sustainability goals. Acting as a bridge between engineering, operations, and supply chain teams, this position ensures real-time visibility, standardization of best practices, and continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. This role enables projects to be delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management & Analytics: Design and deploy reliable data collection systems throughout foundry operations. Examine operational data to spot patterns, inefficiencies, and areas for potential improvement. Create dashboards and visual reports using Power BI and other analytics tools.
- Digitalization & Systems Integration: Support the integration and enhancement of ERP/MES systems, especially SAP. Work closely with IT and operations teams to maintain smooth data exchange between platforms. Lead efforts to digitize manual processes and reporting.
- Project Management: Plan, implement, and track projects using Microsoft Planner and additional project management software. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within defined scope, and meet strategic targets. Prepare and deliver project updates to stakeholders.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Apply sustainability practices and credentials to boost environmental outcomes. Help ensure adherence to industry standards and corporate sustainability objectives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with production, quality, and maintenance departments to bring data-driven solutions to life. Offer technical assistance and training on digital tools and platforms.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Project management, Data Science, or related discipline, foundry specific management.
- Proven experience in foundry operations or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MES systems (SAP preferred).
- Proficiency in Power BI, data analytics, and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Planner and project management methodologies.
- Completion of WINS training.
- Sustainability qualification or demonstrable experience in sustainable practices.
- Understanding of digitization strategies and supporting platforms.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
- Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement training.
- Agile Methodologies.
- PowerBi.
- Industry related affiliation and engagement.
