What you’ll do:
- Technical Accounting and Compliance: Lead the assessment, reporting, and advisory on developments in accounting standards, including IFRS 18, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation across the Group. Manage projects related to new accounting standards, including impact assessments and statutory disclosure development.
- Financial Reporting Management: Oversee the process and timetable for Interim and Annual reports and UK subsidiary accounts, coordinating stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant submissions. Support quality assurance of reports and press releases, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements. Manage ESEF reporting and audit committee reporting for assigned areas.
- Internal Controls and Governance: Maintain the Group Finance Manual and deliver technical training to finance teams globally. Review Capex, reportable contracts, and Group Policy exemptions in line with delegation authorities. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address audit findings promptly.
- Process Improvement and Systems Development: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial reporting systems in collaboration with the finance systems team.
- Financial Analysis and Ad-hoc Projects: Support the Group Financial Controller with financial analysis and special projects as required.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support collaboration with global teams and auditors.

What you’ll bring:
Must-haves:
- Degree and CA/ACA qualified with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience, or extensive industry experience with strong technical accounting expertise.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP & IFRS), and regulatory requirements, including experience with IFRS 18.
- Proven experience in group statutory reporting, subsidiary accounts, and consolidation systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience writing technical accounting papers and policies.
- Background in accounting practice or industry with exposure to project management for new accounting standards implementation.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with audit processes and collaboration with internal and external auditors.
