Due to frequent stakeholder interaction, this role has a strong preference for UK‑based candidates; however, as a global organisation, Weir will consider suitably qualified applicants located in any country where we operate across EMEA/US. Business requirements will determine the final location.

Purpose of Role: Weir’s global SAP S/4HANA transformation is a once‑in‑a‑generation programme establishing the core business platforms that will power the company for the next decade. As a senior leader in this journey, the Product Domain Architect brings deep Manufacturing expertise across SAP S/4HANA Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling, Inventory Management, Extended Warehouse Management, and complementary platforms such as Kinaxis. Partnering closely with the Product Domain Lead, this role drives the scoping and delivery of key Manufacturing capabilities including Production Planning, Manufacturing Execution, and Plant Management. The PDA ensures all initiatives are architected with a cross‑domain, end‑to‑end perspective, maintaining strong alignment with Enterprise Architecture and stepping into full domain leadership when required. Designed for a high‑calibre transformation expert, this role accelerates Weir’s Manufacturing maturity across people, process, and technology - directly enabling strategic outcomes and programme success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Partnership: Drive Manufacturing transformation by partnering with - and deputising for - the Product Domain Lead, leveraging SAP Fit‑to‑Standard and Clean Core principles to maximise value across all Manufacturing Management capabilities.
  • End‑to‑End Capability & Value Stream Ownership: Own and govern the Manufacturing capability and its Enterprise Value Streams (e.g., Manufacture to Distribution), ensuring cross‑domain alignment and value‑driven delivery through close collaboration with other Domain Architects.
  • Architecture, Solution Design & Governance: Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of Manufacturing solutions, translating business requirements into scalable architecture; govern the domain roadmap, architectural artefacts, standards, risks, and decisions while ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Cross‑Domain Collaboration, Data, Integration & Innovation: Work across architecture teams to ensure coherence, guide solution architects, shape data and integration patterns, uphold strong data governance, and drive continuous improvement through modern cloud approaches, emerging technologies, and manufacturing‑focused innovation.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing Process, Systems & Domain Expertise: Brings deep expertise in designing and optimising end‑to‑end Manufacturing processes—including Planning, Execution, and Plant & Asset Management—with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and complex industrial environments.
  • SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, MES Platforms & BPM Capability: Experienced across SAP S/4HANA digital manufacturing and quality modules, MES solutions such as 42Q, historians and CAM systems, with a solid understanding of PLM integrations, MBOM/EBOM processes, and hands‑on capability in BPM methodologies and tooling such as Celonis or Signavio.
  • Agile Delivery, Portfolio Management & Cross‑Functional Engagement: Proficient in Agile methodologies and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Atlassian suite), with the ability to collaborate across domains, translate complex manufacturing needs, and influence senior stakeholders through clear, strategic communication.
  • Leadership Mindset, Strategic Thinking & Adaptability: Demonstrates an enterprise‑wide, strategic mindset with strong facilitation and communication skills, comfortable leading complex and ambiguous change while constructively challenging teams and guiding them toward transformative, value‑driven outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a Domain Architect within a large‑scale SAP S/4HANA implementation, architecting value‑driven, enterprise‑aligned solutions across complex business domains.
