Purpose of Role: We are looking to recruit a skilled Additive Manufacturing Robot Operator to join our team in Todmorden, home to the Weir Additive Manufacturing Solutions. You will be required to work on prototyping and operation of additive manufacturing equipment, especially the CEAD Flexbot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic equipment used in our additive manufacturing processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. A strong understanding of additive manufacturing technologies and the ability to work on complex projects is a key requirement for the role.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated engineer interested in working on the development, testing and validation of additive manufacturing techniques relevant to the Weir products and services.
The successful candidate will have exposure to:
- New Additive Manufacturing processes and software.
- Training on Additive Manufacturing by members of the team, equipment suppliers and research partners.
- Collaboration with engineering teams and manufacturing facilities across Weir.
- Working closely with process engineers and material scientists to ensure the concept meets the functional specification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Additive Manufacturing equipment based in Todmorden facility.
- Communicating with engineers to understand the projects and products requirements, scheduling and performing 3D printing work accordingly.
- Organised and able to work independently, but also to collaborate with a diverse, fast-moving team.
- Expected to provide support in the creation of products and prototypes using hardware and software for any necessary design changes, including 3D scanning and reverse engineering.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant role.
- Extensive career experience in a similar role will also be considered.
- Experience in CAM software and/or operating robotic equipment.
