What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning, or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day, and help shape a more sustainable future.
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Sales Director to shape the next phase of growth for an established business and sales team. You’ll lead and empower experienced sales professionals, build trusted relationships with senior customers, pursue significant growth opportunities and work collaboratively across a global organisation to deliver solutions that create genuine customer value. We’re looking for a commercially minded, strategic and collaborative leader who can challenge the status quo, inspire a growth mindset, and translate opportunity into results.
What you’ll do

Demonstrate visible safety leadership through customer engagement, field interactions, and leadership activities. Ensure safety remains a core consideration in all commercial and operational decisions. Lead proactive risk identification and mitigation activities across the region.
- Growth Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned to APAC and ESCO objectives. Increase market share across core and complementary products and services. Deliver annual orders, revenue, margin, and cash flow objectives. Build and execute plans to recover performance gaps and address growth challenges. Identify and develop new market opportunities, partnerships, and customer segments.
- Strategic Account Leadership: Own executive relationships with major mining customers and contractors. Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers. Strengthen customer intimacy and market intelligence. Lead cross-functional resources to increase share of wallet and protect strategic business. Act as executive sponsor for priority customer relationships and critical opportunities.
- Capital Growth & Major Projects: Develop and execute regional capital equipment growth strategies. Identify, prioritise, and pursue major project opportunities. Build compelling pursuit strategies and value propositions. Mobilise internal stakeholders to improve win rates. Expand ESCO's participation in capital projects and greenfield opportunities.
- Commercial Excellence: Lead pricing strategy and margin optimisation activities. Balance growth, profitability, and customer retention objectives. Drive value-based selling and commercial discipline. Ensure all pricing decisions are supported by appropriate market and customer analysis. Manage commercial risk and contractual negotiations.
- Enterprise Leadership & Collaboration: Influence and align Product Management, Supply Chain, Service, Engineering, Finance, and Operational teams. Lead through collaboration and influence rather than direct authority alone. Actively contribute to broader APAC and global business objectives. Share best practice and support enterprise-wide initiatives. Build strong relationships across regions and functions.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and maintain regional business plans. Utilize market intelligence and data analytics to inform strategy. Establish clear priorities and resource allocation plans. Develop investment proposals and business cases to support growth initiatives. Provide regular business reviews and strategic recommendations.
- Sales Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop a high-performing sales organisation. Create a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement. Build sales capability through structured development and succession planning. Ensure strong engagement and retention of key talent. Develop leaders capable of operating across the broader business.
- Customer and Market Engagement: Maintain strong visibility within the mining industry. Represent ESCO at customer, industry, and community events. Develop deep understanding of customer operations and business drivers. Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Operational Excellence: Drive forecasting accuracy and pipeline quality. Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to deliver customer commitments. Ensure excellent customer service and operational execution. Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the region.
- Sales Process and CRM Compliance: Champion Salesforce CRM and commercial data integrity. Leverage Power BI and commercial analytics to drive performance. Improve forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility. Ensure disciplined use of sales processes and standard work.
