About your new role
Our Personal and Business Immigration team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity for a business immigration solicitor to join us in our London or Birmingham.
Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team advises employers across the UK on all aspects of employment, pensions, and immigration law. We have a diverse caseload of immigration matters, encompassing both business and personal immigration. Our corporate clients are some of the UK\’s largest and well-known organisationsfrom awide range of sectors including logistics, healthcare, education, and technology. We believe that the quality of our clients and strength of our relationships with our clients speaks volumes about the excellence of service we provide.
You will work on a mixed caseload of matters (often complex and time sensitive), including but not limited to skilled worker visa applications, global business mobility applications, dependent visa applications, partner visas, indefinite leave to remain, British citizenship applications, sponsor licence applications, sponsor licence compliance and right to work issues.
There will also be opportunities to grow within the firm and be involved with business development, networking, and marketing.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Handle a mixed caseload of personal and business immigration work
- Provide tailored immigration, advice to a wide range of clients
- Assist other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate
- Draft and prepare letters, e-mails, documents, immigration applications, and reports
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with relevant immigration laws and regulations
- Keep up with changes in immigration laws and policies to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
- Draft articles and legal updates
- Assist with business development initiatives including training and networking
- Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs
- Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
