Regulatory Professional Discipline Solicitor

Our Healthcare Regulatory Professional Discipline Team is nationally recognised for advising healthcare professionals through some of the most challenging and career-defining situations they will face. Ranked Tier 1 by The Legal 500, we act for Medical Defence Organisations, insurers and private clients in regulatory, disciplinary, coronial and criminal matters. With specialists based across Leeds, London, Manchester and Cardiff, we offer the opportunity to work on high-quality, complex cases alongside some of the most experienced practitioners in the field.

We are looking for a Senior Solicitor with 2-5 years PQE to join our Leeds, London or Manchester office. You will manage a varied caseload and work closely with colleagues across the national team, advising clients on a range of healthcare regulatory and professional discipline matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
• Advising on GMC and GDC investigations
• Representing clients at inquests and pre-inquest review hearings
• Advising on police investigations and Trust disciplinary matters
• Supporting senior lawyers and supervising junior team members where appropriate
• Achieving financial and chargeable hour targets
• Producing monthly and ad hoc client management information reports
• Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development activities

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role.

About You

You’ll be a qualified Solicitor with between 2 and 5 years PQE and a genuine interest in healthcare regulatory work.

You will also have:

• Knowledge of healthcare regulators and their processes
• Advocacy experience
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive and collaborative mindset
• A desire to develop specialist expertise and progress your career within this niche area of law
