Overview
As a Senior Solicitor in our Healthcare Regulatory Professional Discipline team, you will manage a varied caseload advising on regulatory matters for healthcare professionals. You’ll work within a Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked team, collaborating with colleagues across offices to handle GMC and GDC investigations, inquests, and disciplinary concerns. You will advocate for clients at hearings, support junior lawyers, and contribute to business development. This role offers specialist expertise in a growing field and clear development within a supportive national team. You’ll help shape high-profile outcomes while delivering client-focused service.
Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload with minimal supervision
- Advise on GMC and GDC investigations
- Represent clients at inquests and pre-inquest review hearings
- Advise on police investigations and Trust disciplinary matters
- Support senior lawyers and supervise junior team members
- Achieve financial and chargeable hour targets
- Produce monthly and ad hoc client management information reports
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 2–5 years PQE
- GMC and GDC regulatory knowledge
- Advocacy experience
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
