About your new role The Regulatory Department is one of the largest in the country and is recognised by clients and other lawyers as being among the top performers in the industry .

We advise clients across all sectors including health, public sector, corporations and individuals.

We are currently recruiting for solicitors, solicitor- advocates or barristers to join our Regulatory team to undertake inquests for the police and other emergency services, insurers and healthcare clients.

This is predominantly an advocacy role and regular attendance at court is required.

  • Advise clients and prepare inquest cases for court;
  • Prepare written submissions on the law;
  • Attend inquests and undertake advocacy on our clients’ behalf;
  • Deal with post inquest issues including prevention of future deaths reports;
  • Manage a case load of files
  • Attend administrative applications and hearings at court, including travel, and accompany counsel where necessary
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KPIs are adhered to
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures#LI-Hybrid About You You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work.
  • We also require you to have/be:• Qualified solicitor 3+ PQE
  • Willingness to develop advocacy skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent collaborative and team working skills
  • Inquest experience is essential
  • Good communication skills Desirable
  • Criminal defence experience
