Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team is seeking an employment lawyer with a focus on advocacy to cover Employment Tribunal hearings, from case management preliminary hearings to multi-day full-merits hearings, both in-person and by video. We advise clients across the UK including some of the UK's largest and best known employers. We believe that the quality of our clients and strength of our relationships with them speaks volumes about the quality of the service we provide. Our teams are highly ranked in the Legal Directories and have ambitions to grow further. The position can be based from any one of our offices but working as part of our national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team and subject to our hybrid working policy. However, it should be noted that the position will involve travel to cover hearings throughout the UK, although travel will be limited wherever it is possible to do so.
Responsibilities
- As a lawyer and Employment Advocate in our Employment, Pensions and Immigration team, play an integral role in growing our business, working alongside Partners to drive the practice forward, with scope for career development.
- Manage a mixed caseload of employment work and be responsible for:
- Primarily covering employment tribunal hearings, including (but not limited to):
- Multi-day discrimination, whistleblowing and detriment cases;
- Unfair dismissal and wages cases;
- Contentious preliminary hearings (jurisdiction, disability, applications etc.);
- Case management preliminary hearings;
