Join to apply for the Employment Senior Solicitor role at Weightmans. Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team is seeking an experienced employment lawyer. We advise clients across the UK including some of the UK's largest and best known employers. We believe that the quality of our clients and strength of our relationships with them speaks volumes about the quality of the service we provide.
The candidate will be based at either our Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle offices but working as part of our national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team and subject to our hybrid working policy. Our teams are highly ranked in the Legal Directories and have ambitions to grow further.
Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on the full range of employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination and detriment claims.
- Defending Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports.
- Working alongside our corporate teams on advice relating to TUPE and any employment related support required on corporate transactions.
- Drafting and advising on service agreements for senior executives and any related documentation.
- Advising in relation to change projects, changing terms and conditions and consultation requirements.
- Industrial relations advice.
- Assisting other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate.
- Drafting articles and legal updates.
- Assisting with business development initiatives including training and networking.
- Working in accordance with client and internal SLAs.
- Working in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures.
- Contributing to set team financial and utilisation targets.
