Employment Lawyer

b Overview /b p As a solicitor in Weightmans’ Employment, Pensions and Immigration team, you will manage a mixed caseload across contentious and non-contentious matters, advising on redundancy, discrimination and other employment issues. You’ll defend tribunal claims, support colleagues, and contribute to client updates and business development. The role is based in one of several offices with hybrid working, helping grow a national practice. You’ll work closely with Partners to shape the business and ensure delivery against SLAs and targets. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Advise on a full range of employment issues (redundancy, disciplinaries, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination) /li li Defend Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports /li li Support team members with caseloads as appropriate /li li Draft articles and legal updates /li li Assist with business development, including training and networking /li li Work in line with client/internal SLAs and company values /li li Contribute to set team financial and utilisation targets /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li 3-6 YR Qualified Solicitor /li li Strong technical knowledge in employment law /li li Experience of managing own caseload (not essential) /li li Attention to detail /li li Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines/targets /li li Excellent teamwork, communication, time management and organisational skills /li li Flexible approach /li li Strong academics and technical knowledge /li /ul ul li teamwork /li li communication /li li time management /li li employment law expertise /li li defences and tribunal preparation /li li drafting articles and updates /li /ul
