Weightmans is a top 40‑ranked law firm and we are seeking an Inquest solicitor to join our expanding Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team. The team offers a broad range of expert advice to organisations and individuals in health‑based regulatory matters. We work with NHS trusts, private healthcare providers and handle inquests, Court of Protection applications, Mental Health Tribunals and other regulatory challenges, including prosecutions by the Care Quality Commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of inquest files for NHS clients, care homes and other organisations.
- Attend inquest hearings at court, including travel.
- Advocate at pre‑inquest review hearings and inquests.
- Meet with clients and witnesses in preparation for court hearings.
- Work in accordance with Weightmans values and comply with relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required within the wider remit of the role.
Location
The role is primarily based in the Midlands, working out of our state‑of‑the‑art office in Birmingham City Centre. Some travel nationally may be required.
