The Product and Innovation team at Weightmans works to improve how legal services are delivered by using technology, data and smarter ways of working. The team supports lawyers and clients by developing practical tools and solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills and be involved in innovation within a law firm. This is an entry-level role within a professional services setting, designed for someone looking to build a career in innovation. You'll learn the fundamentals of legal innovation and gain hands-on experience, supporting the team with the delivery and implementation of product and innovation initiatives across the firm and for our clients.
What would a week look like? There is no 'usual' week in our world, but the types of things you would be doing in this role include:
- Shadowing members of the Department to see and assist in all stages of the product and innovation cycle (scoping/development/launch/maintenance) which may include:
- Engaging with stakeholders by attending workshops and innovation sessions
- Helping to research ideas and generally reading round and exploring new subjects
- Being a point of contact for innovation and product queries
- Understanding product and innovation processes by being involved in scoping, defining, running and reporting back on proof of concepts and innovation projects.
- Undertaking research into tech and client markets
- Getting to grips with the technology we have and completing self study qualifications
- Attending conferences and webinars and sharing what you have learnt
- Studying for a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification
