We are seeking a Solicitor to join the Aviation team in London. This role is part of the broader Specialty team, which handles a wide range of substantial and challenging work, primarily of a contentious nature. The successful candidate will be expected to handle a variety of aviation claims work, both domestic and international, including aviation insurance, reinsurance, coverage, and commercial work.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Proactively manage cases with minimal supervision
- Assist partners and team members with their caseloads
- Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents
- Liaise with insurer and insured clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other parties
- Ensure compliance with client service level agreements, policies, and procedures
- Support business development initiatives
- Complete management information reports
- Support junior team members
- Assist with other tasks as allocated by partners or the Team Manager
- Uphold Weightmans’ and Aviation Team values

About You:
- Up to 4 years PQE
- Experience in insurance is essential
- Experience in aviation litigation is preferred
- Experience with secondment to or employment in airline, aviation, or insurance organizations, along with relevant skills or language abilities, is advantageous
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, manage caseloads, and work under pressure
- Strong team player with initiative
