Role Description
- Weighbridge Services Ltd is seeking a Multi Skilled Service Engineer for a full-time, on-site /in field role company is based in Sheffield.
- Responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance and repair of weighing equipment, providing technical support, and troubleshooting equipment issues in various settings.
- The role also entails delivering field service to clients across different industries, ensuring reliability and completion of installations and service tasks while maintaining high standards of client communication and professionalism.
- Service/repair/install of weighing equipment to a high standard on weighbridges, train weighers and all types of scales on client’s sites.
- Traveling abroad maybe required at times
- This is a Field based role and will include visiting our customer sites and providing excellent customer service to our many varied clients.
- Duties will include carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs, installation, calibration/verification of weighing equipment (mainly weighbridges and train weighers) and other equipment within a wide varied customer base.
- Working safely and with care for equipment and customers
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving equipment issues.
- Experience in field service and the ability to adapt to various on-site conditions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for clear interactions with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in technical support and ensuring effective equipment functionality.
- Expertise in maintenance and repair of mechanical or electronic instruments or equipment.
- Practical understanding of weighing equipment installation, repair, and calibration is advantageous.
- Full UK driving license is preferred due to travel requirements for field service.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification would be beneficial.
- Four years of field service experience (an industrial weighing background would be a real advantage) in dealing with customers on customer’s sites daily.
- Field Electrical/mechanical experience
- Good PC skills (Microsoft Office/Outlook/) including the use of a laptop computer for fault diagnosis.
- Welding and small fabrication experience an advantage
- Good prompt communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-management skills for tools and van stock control.
