We are supporting a global developer and supplier of electromechanical systems, who operate across a wide range of industries. Their West Midlands Headquarters and Design Technical Centre offers bespoke design and tailored solutions for their global customers, of a wide range of products. Working alongside their manufacturing facilities in the USA, Europe, Australia, China and India, this new role will play a critical function in providing and meeting the specific needs of individual customers.
The role will join a small team that works with customer requirements to create and maintain a wide variety of customer products and configurations. The role includes designing and documenting the products, in their drawing and ERP systems as well as working closely with the new Products, Manufacturing and Production teams, to ensure quality and efficiency throughout their manufacturing. This position will offer good development opportunities to gain knowledge and broad experience in a successful and fast growing manufacturing company.
Responsibilities
- Create bespoke product designs and configurations for customers including creation of dimensional product drawings and wiring diagrams for product installation and use.
- Create wiring diagrams and assembly drawings or instructions for manufacturing team.
- Create and maintain product BOMs and Routings within the company ERP system.
- Carry out small product design and development projects, assisting NPD and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
- Assist the Technical Support team with customer queries.
Requirements
- Degree or similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering or comparable subject.
- Experience in 3D CAD software (Creo / Solidworks or Similar).
- Ability to read, layout and create 2D Engineering drawings.
- Understanding of geometric tolerances and other similar Engineering principles.
- Experience or understanding of ERP software(s) (Microsoft Navision preferred).
Desirable Requirements
- Understanding of basic Electronics and Mechatronic principles to aid in creation of wiring diagrams and drawings.
- Experience of hands-on approach to product testing.
