About our client:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Electronics Engineer to take charge of electronics delivery within their cutting-edge technology team. As a key member of this multi-disciplinary group, you will be responsible for:

  1. Designing and developing electronic sub-systems for advanced robotic systems, including 3D imaging, sensor monitoring, safety management, and motor control.
  2. Ensuring compliance with relevant CE and EMC regulations as outlined by their quality standards.
  3. Overseeing the electronics development process and managing the electronics roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and execution of the electronics roadmap.
  2. Manage electronics development projects from concept to delivery.
  3. Design innovative electronic sub-systems to enhance robotic capabilities.
  4. Take ownership of electrical and electronic system designs.
  5. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electronics engineers.
  6. Oversee and refine established release processes.
  7. Develop scalable designs suitable for manufacturing at volume.
  8. Define quality standards and processes for manufacturing handovers.
  9. Coordinate outsourced tasks such as PCB layout and EMC testing when needed.
  10. Ensure compliance with CE standards for EMC, electrical safety, and operator safety in collaboration with the quality team.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Expertise in design for EMC, manufacturing, and testing.
  2. Proficiency in mixed-signal circuit design, commissioning, and testing.
  3. Experience with power electronics and motor drives.
  4. Familiarity with EDA tools (e.g., Eagle).
  5. A proven track record of progressing designs to volume manufacturing.
  6. A strong academic background (degree level or higher) and over 10 years of experience in electronics engineering.
  7. Demonstrated project management skills.
  8. Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  9. A strong passion for leading and advancing the field of electronics.
  10. Right to work in the UK without the need for Visa sponsorship.
