We are recruiting on behalf of a leading independent electrical engineering organisation that delivers specialist engineering solutions across the UK and internationally. The business operates within sectors including power generation, utilities, renewables, infrastructure, manufacturing, rail, marine, and defence, supporting clients with the design, maintenance, repair, upgrade, and installation of critical electrical assets and rotating machinery.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play an essential part in delivering high-quality engineering solutions throughout all stages of project activity:
- Designing new machinery (stator, rotor, and full machine assemblies), as well as upgrades and retrofits
- Conducting root cause analysis for failed machinery and preparing repair instructions
- Leading engineering activities and supporting client interactions throughout project phases
- Performing diagnostic and life-assessment work, including on-site condition analysis
- Assisting tendering and project management teams, helping secure and deliver new projects
- Developing test methodologies for dynamic testing and analysing test results
- Conducting witness testing, technical evaluations, and quality checks
Requirements:
- Knowledge of medium and large high-voltage rotating electrical machines
- A background in engineering design environments
- Ideally five years’ experience in a professional engineering role
- CAD capability or experience working with draughting support
- Understanding of rotating machines, control systems, switchgear, and transformers
- The ability to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas
- Strong MS Office, CAD, and engineering software skills
- A results-focused mindset, working independently or as part of a project team.
