WeFlex is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution - and our mission is to make electric vehicles accessible - starting with the ride-hailing market (e.g. Uber and Bolt). We provide ride-hailing drivers with finance to purchase a range of different electric vehicles, from affordable MGs to luxury Mercedes and Teslas. We are growing at a very rapid pace (60% YOY, profitable for the last 2 years) and the fleet and customer base are growing with us, with just under 2,000 customers driving cars in our fleet and plans to double this over the next year.
The Role
As our Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all mechanical repairs and maintenance activity on our fleet of rental, lease and finance vehicles. You will ensure every vehicle has an accurate and up to date service history and MOT, managing all repairs on time and in line with budget.
The role will involve coordinating all servicing, MOT and mechanical repair activity on the fleet. You will be the key contact for all suppliers in our maintenance network providing authority for work and ensuring all costs are in line with agreed rates and pricing. You will be responsible for minimising vehicle downtime, reducing off-road days and helping the business deliver its high utilisation targets. You will play a key part in our evolving work direction policy to ensure our vehicles get serviced by the right supplier as well as developing our supplier network. You will be responsible for ensuring we have a robust network of affiliated suppliers to manage all fleet repairs. WeFlex is focused on delivering exceptional customer service, therefore you will also be responsible for monitoring the suppliers we work with to ensure our customers get a good service when their vehicle requires service or repair. You will have direct access to the management team at WeFlex, and will provide valuable insight into whatβs going on in the Servicing & Maintenance side of the business. This will include identifying and sharing data on trends e.g. particular types of vehicles where costs are escalating or advice on when to dispose of particular vehicles.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Fleet Maintenance
- Vehicle servicing - You will ensure all vehicle service and MOT schedules for the WeFlex managed fleet are being met & are logged in our fleet system.
- Cost control - You will take ownership of the repairs and maintenance costs lines, challenging costs and ensuring they are in line with agreed pricing.
- Repair network β you will manage vendor relationships and negotiate favourable repair costs. You will also have responsibility for identifying new suppliers and developing our supplier network. You will ensure all vehicle maintenance is completed in line with the company work direction policies and play a key part in shaping these policies as we grow.
- Breakdowns and roadside assistance β Working with our breakdown providers you will receive breakdown reports and ensure all Breakdown βIssuesβ recorded in our fleet system are managed to completion. Tracking the repairs to completion and communicating with our internal customer service teams on progress, to help them deliver a high-level of customer service. You will act as the point of support and escalation for any customer issues regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs. This includes managing the relationships with OEMs and vehicle suppliers on warranty claims and repair support.
- Fleet project work β As required, you will act as a project member on various projects in the fleet management section of the business as we look to grow and develop our fleet management capability.
- Leading a small team of service controllers and administrators in managing the fleet maintenance function of the business.
- Manage resources & allocation of tasks within the team to ensure that all fleet repairs and maintenance are completed as required.
- Facilitate the training and development of staff to improve knowledge of fleet repairs and maintenance. This will include working with our Customer Services Management team in ensuring their team members have the right level of knowledge to advise our customers.
- Monitor and communicate staff performance of the fleet maintenance team against fleet maintenance KPIs and targets.
- Recruit staff and manage the appraisal and review processes.
The Person
You will have worked in a similar role on the past, either within a fleet management company or within a dealership aftersales role. You have excellent people skills, are highly organised and can manage the maintenance of a fast-growing fleet in a busy fast-paced environment. You will have a good understanding of all aspects of vehicle maintenance and fleet management and can demonstrate successful management of a fleet maintenance budget and cost lines. You will have enough mechanical knowledge to work through and resolve nonstandard issues that arise around ongoing fleet repairs. You will have experience of building and managing supplier networks to support. Experience of an electric fleet and knowledge of electric vehicles would be an advantage.
